Columbus police have charged a 25-year-old man with stabbing his ex-girlfriend in the shoulder Wednesday.
Dominico Joeta Saddler, of 1103 Fifth St. N., was arrested at his residence following the 8:30 a.m. stabbing outside of Lisa”s Land of Learning day care on Sixth Avenue North.
The victim, who is a volunteer at the day care, was walking to her car when Saddler approached her from behind and stabbed her in the left shoulder, said police Public Information Officer Terrie Songer.
She was taken in stable condition to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle with the blade still imbedded in her shoulder.
Saddler, who is in jail on a $30,000 bond, was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon. He is scheduled to appear Feb. 17 in Columbus Municipal Court.
No arrests have been made in an unrelated Tuesday night stabbing, where a 19-year-old woman was stabbed while trying to break up a fight between eight men, one of whom she knew, near the M&M Grocery at Fourth Street South and 12th Avenue South.
