A Starkville man was arrested on Tuesday after reportedly attempting to sell shotguns in a Dollar General parking lot.
Starkville Police Department arrested Eddie Davis, 52, for possession of a weapon by a felon after responding to a call to the Dollar General at 1006 North Jackson St. about a person attempting to sell firearms.
According to an affidavit The Dispatch obtained Wednesday afternoon from Starkville municipal court, Davis had a CBC Shotgun Model C1304830 and a New England Firearm 20-gauge shotgun.
Davis was booked in the Oktibbeha County Jail, where he was still being held as of Thursday morning. He has a hold from Clay County for contempt of court and a hold with the Mississippi Department of Corrections, according to jail personnel.
