Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle welcomes new interventional cardiologist, Hemraj Makwana, to its medical staff. He will be in practice at BMG Columbus Cardiovascular Care. He specializes in interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, vascular medicine and critical care medicine.
Makwana received a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from NHL Municipal Medical College, Gujarat University in India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, an academic affiliate of the Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University, the New York Medical College and New York Institute of Technology in Brooklyn, New York. He completed a fellowship in surgical critical care followed by a research fellowship in hypertension and vascular biology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a two-year research fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center, New York Medical College. He also completed a three year fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in 2009 and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at North Shore University Hospital.
He comes to Baptist Golden Triangle from St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio, where he served as medical director of the Cardiac Cath Lab.
Makwana is board certified in internal medicine, interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, critical care medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and vascular medicine.
