Cracker Barrel reopened its doors Tuesday morning for the first time since a Friday shooting in the restaurant sent one member of management to the hospital.
The Dispatch has confirmed that the restaurant is open normal hours Tuesday and will continue on the normal operating schedule, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
The restaurant has been closed since Friday night. At about 4:30 p.m. Friday, an armed suspect entered the restaurant looking for his girlfriend, who is an employee of the restaurant. He began an altercation with several employees and fired several shots in the dining room, one of which hit the victim.
The victim was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle where he remained in stable condition.
The suspect, Robert Beck, 28, of Columbus, was later arrested in Tennessee and charged with aggravated assault.
Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton said the city is working with Tennessee law enforcement to have Beck released to Columbus custody this week.
