Felony malicious mischief is the latest in a string of legal troubles for a Columbus woman recently acquitted of making threatening phone calls to the Department of Human Services.
Roschell Marie Cotton, 40, of 214 Taylor St., was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly vandalized a vehicle on Eighth Street South, according to a Columbus Police Department press release. The vehicle’s owner witnessed the vandalism and pressed charges against Cotton.
A jury earlier this year found Cotton not guilty of simple assault on a public servant and making a false bomb report after she allegedly threatened a social worker at DHS in Columbus and later called the building and threatened to blow it up.
The trial, which was in September, had been continued from May after Cotton showed up to court under the influence of marijuana, methamphetamines and alcohol.
Cotton has been released from Lowndes County Adult Detention Center after posting $7,500 bond.
