A Columbus woman has been arrested on charges of kidnapping and assault in connection with a Sunday incident in which a man was found bound and bleeding in a Columbus residence.
Christie Wooten, 42, of Columbus is being held without bond because of a hold placed on her by the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Police expect more arrests in connection with the incident.
Columbus Police Department officers responded to a call in the 500 block of 7th Street North, where a male was found with his hands tied behind him with electrical tape and bleeding from a head wound. The victim was treated at the scene and told officers that he was attacked, tied up and robbed by a white female and a black male.
Wooten served three years for two counts of fraud and one count of grand larceny and was on probation at the time of her arrest Sunday.
