Starkville Police Department is asking for information about an alleged weekend aggravated assault on Everglade Avenue.

Police responded to a call at about 2 p.m. on Sunday to assist an injured woman. Once officers arrived, they determined she had been assaulted, according to a press release SPD released late Wednesday. A helicopter flew the victim to a hospital outside the Golden Triangle where she is being treated.

Authorities did not release any further details on the victim's condition or how she was injured.

Police have not arrested a suspect and are asking anyone with information on the assault to contact SPD at 662-323-4131 or the Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
