Columbus’ Highway 45 gained a new restaurant on Feb. 1.
Nana’s Country Kitchen, located at 6767 Hwy. 45 N., offers home-grown and home-cooked foods in what looks like a big red barn.
Owner Kim Wheat has actively sought local farmers to purchase from to ensure the restaurant’s vegetable offerings are fresh. In addition to a full menu of home-cooked favorites, Nana’s Kitchen offers lunch buffet until 3 p.m.
The restaurant is open from 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
Starkville’s Holli’s Sweet Tooth appears to be set to close its doors at the end of the month.
After seeking a worthy buyer for several months to maintain the store, the owners have come to the end of the line. The wholesale candy store is offering a 25-percent off closing sale on all candy through its last day on Feb. 28.
Starting in March, the store’s fixtures and supplies will be available for purchase during liquidation hours from noon-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. Until then the store remains open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
New to Starkville is Thomas Brothers Formal Wear.
Owner Sam Thomas opened a new branch of his clothing store earlier in the month at 450 Hwy. 12 W., Suite F. This makes the third branch, with other branches in Oxford and Tupelo.
Thomas Brothers guarantees the lowest price in the tuxedo industry, offering special packages for grooms and volume discounts. Additionally, the shop offers the latest in ladies’ formal wear, with discounts up to 50 percent on select gowns every day.
The store is open 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Tuesday, Thursday-Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays.
