The Ramada Inn in Columbus closed its doors Wednesday.
This closure comes with a change of ownership to an as-of-yet unannounced buyer. Located at 1200 Highway 45 N., the location was formerly home to Landmark Inn and Suites.
Brickerton’s Corner Bakery underwent a change of ownership in March when Katie Mass sold the bakery to Jeff Overstreet. Nicole Huff was hired as the new head chef. Huff owned a bakery in Missouri prior to moving to Columbus with her husband, who is stationed at Columbus Air Force Base. Mass ran the bakery for five years prior to Overstreet’s purchase.
Custom cakes can be ordered in store or from the bakery’s website, southernflourbakery.com, where they also showcase recently ordered cakes and provide a menu.
With the change of ownership, the bakery’s menu has been updated to include not only custom-made cakes and cupcakes, but even ready-to-eat casseroles.
Southern Flour Bakery, located at 149 Brickyard Dr., is open 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays.
Cowboy Maloney’s Electric City, currently located at 1444 Old Aberdeen Road next to Leigh Mall, is moving across the street.
Following the upcoming move of Goose Hollow Furniture, Cowboy Maloney’s will move into that location at 1539 Highway 45 N. Plans are to complete the move by Feb. 1.
This new location will expand the store’s operating space from 10,000 feet to 32,000 feet.
Cowboy Maloney’s has been operating since 1952, including 22 years in Columbus.
The store is open from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sundays.
