Law enforcement officials are on the lookout for a man they believe is connected with a string of burglaries in two counties.
The Clay and Monroe sheriff’s offices are looking for 25-year-old Kentrell Gardner, who was last seen in a black four-door Nissan. Gardner, a Monroe County resident, is wanted for multiple counts of residential burglary.
Monroe County Sheriff Cecile Cantrell said Gardner is believed to be a suspect in five burglaries that occurred in the last 10 days, primarily around the Hamilton and Nettleton areas.
Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott said Gardner is wanted for at least one burglary in Clay County. He said the burglary happened on Dec. 9 at a home in the Una community in northwest part of the county.
Scott said a safe and gun were stolen in the incident. He said no one was home at the time.
Cantrell said Gardner breaks into homes when residents are away.
MCSO has executed a search warrant on Gardner’s home and found items believed to be stolen from previous burglaries, he said.
“He’s knocking on the doors, listening to make sure no one is at home, and then he’s breaking in,” Cantrell said. “We’ve even got him on video from a camera breaking into one house.”
Anyone with any information on this individual is encouraged to contact the Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 530-7151, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at 662-494-2896 or the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 662-369-2468.
