DESOTO — Officials say two tornadoes touched down in northern Mississippi.
The National Weather Service said early Sunday the tornadoes occurred in Holly Springs and Tate late Saturday night. The heavy storm caused significant tree damage and a shed destroyed, but no injuries or deaths have been reported.
The weather service says a tornado was briefly seen Alcorn. There was another possible tornado in Marshall, but nothing confirmed as of yet.
WREG-TV reports that the storms caused an 18-wheeler to roll over on Interstate 55 near Senatobia, Mississippi. Downed power lines were reported in Oxford, Batesville and Hernando.
