Anytime Cakes and Dewie’s Bake Shop opened Wednesday in Caledonia.
The new store is located at 9677 Wolf Road in the former Maci’s Ice Cream Shop location. Ashley Chandler operated Anytime Cakes out of her home for five years prior to deciding to open the bakery full-time. She is joined in the shop by her mother, Teresa Little, and aunt Susan Holocher.
From the cake batter itself to the fondant, gum paste and butter cream frosting, all cakes are made from scratch.
The store’s hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays.
Starkville will gain a new discount store in mid-January next year.

Hours of operation will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sundays. Bargain Hunt aims to bring 25 new jobs to Starkville with this opening.
