A Columbus man is in custody after a Thursday evening domestic disturbance.
According to a press release from city Public Information Officer Joe Dillon, Columbus Police Department officers responded to a gunshot report at 1523 23rd St. N. shortly after 5 p.m.
The victim, reportedly a family member of 24-year-old Cheyterian Tashawn Smith, was shot in the leg. The release said the victim’s injuries are non-life threatening. The victim lives in the house with Smith.
Smith fled the scene before officers arrived, and was arrested late Thursday night on suspicion of aggravated domestic violence.
