STARKVILLE — A Starkville man was charged with two felony counts of robbery after allegedly robbing two convenience stores.
Starkville police arrested Antonio N. Payne, 44, after the suspect turned himself in Saturday night, according to police department Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady. Police say Payne robbed a Murphy’s USA gas station on Highway 12 between 10 and 11 p.m. Friday and the South Jackson Street Sprint Mart between 7 and 8 a.m. Saturday.
Payne was unarmed during the alleged incidents, Lovelady said. He said he didn’t know if anyone was hurt at either location.
Payne was booked in Oktibbeha County Jail, and his initial appearance in Starkville Municipal Court is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday. His bond has not yet been set.
