The Columbus Police Department has named a second suspect in last weekend’s convenience store shooting that sent a person to the hospital.
CPD is searching for Lonnell Thompson Jr., 20, of Columbus, in relation to the shooting that occurred at the Sprint Mart on Highway 69 North on April 30.
The shooting occurred at around 1:30 a.m., police said. Officers arrived at the scene to find several vehicles and the doors to the business had been shot. Half an hour later, a 23-year-old arrived at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle and was treated for a gunshot wound to the ankle, which authorities say was the result of the Sprint Mart shooting.
One suspect, Tyquina “Ty” Kidd, 19, turned himself in on Tuesday.
CPD has asked anyone with information on Thompson’s whereabouts to contact them at 662-244-3500 or the Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
