STARKVILLE — Mississippi’s higher education commissioner will speak to Mississippi State University graduates.
Glenn Boyce will speak Friday to engineering, veterinary medicine, agriculture, forest resources and education graduates. He’ll talk Saturday to business, arts and sciences and architecture, art and design graduates.
More than 2,600 students are expected to receive degrees.
MSU will give honorary degrees to James L. Rouse of Houston and J. F. “Bud” Thompson Jr. of Meridian.
Thompson owns Insurance Solutions of Mississippi and is a partner in Thompson Limited Partnerships. He’s a former Bulldog Club president and endowed a MSU scholarship. Rouse, a retired ExxonMobil Corp. executive, was president of the MSU Foundation and MSU’s 2012 alumnus of the year.
Also Friday, East Mississippi Electric Power Association CEO Wayne Henson will address graduates of MSU’s Meridian campus.
