A Columbus man says he was sprayed in the face with pepper spray and robbed at a residence Tuesday afternoon.
Officers from the Columbus Police Department are investigating the robbery which occurred between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. at a Pandora Drive residence. The victim told police he was sitting in his home when two men knocked on the door. One of them was wearing a mask, authorities say.
One of the suspects sprayed the victim with pepper spray. They took an undisclosed amount of money and a cell phone, according to Interim Police Chief Fred Shelton.
An officer at the scene told a Dispatch reporter that the suspects also took personal items like keys.
Shelton said the victim knew the suspects and that they had gotten into an altercation earlier that day. A warrant has been issued for one of the suspects and police expect to have him in custody Wednesday.
The suspects will probably be charged with robbery, Shelton said.
