TUPELO — A high school band director in Tupelo has resigned following his arrest on a drug charge.
Tim Matlock had been arrested on Dec. 21 for possession of crystal methamphetamine.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports Matlock, who has not publicly commented on the arrest, resigned Wednesday.
He was arrested during a traffic stop in Union County and, according to online records, bonded out of the Union County Jail on Dec. 22.
The school district will start advertising for a new band director for Tupelo High School within the next week through media outlets and the Mississippi Department of Education.
