JACKSON — It’s a holiday warning for Mississippi motorists: The Mississippi Highway Patrol plans safety checkpoints around the state to make sure impaired drivers are removed from the roads.
In a Wednesday news release, the Highway Patrol said the New Year’s Enforcement period starts Thursday at 6 p.m. and continues through Friday.
During the 2014 period, troopers investigated 70 vehicle crashes, including two fatalities.
