A man was robbed in north Columbus at approximately 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Officials with the Columbus Police Department said the victim was standing near the Sandpiper Apartments at 320 Eighth Street North when three men walked up to him and robbed him at gunpoint. One of the men pointed a gun at him while another went through the victim’s pockets and took his wallet. The three men then ran north on Eighth Street, authorities say.
The victim was unharmed.
The victim said he knew the nickname of one of the men who robbed him, according to Fred Shelton, the interim chief of police with CPD.
One of the men was wearing a camouflage jacket, another wore a black hoodie and the other wore a red hat.
Shelton said police have suspects and the case remains under investigation.
