Twisted Burger Company has closed in West Point.
The eatery, which was located at 410 E. Main St., made the announcement Saturday on its Facebook page.
“Due to many issues with the building we rent, we can no longer justify spending money on a building we do not own,” the post stated. “We have every intention of opening back up in West Point at another location.”
Fans need not worry. Twisted Burger is in the process of opening a Columbus spot. It will be located at 78 Brickerton St.
The Dispatch was unable to reach the eatery’s management this week to ask when The Shops at Brickerton location may open. Its Facebook page, though, indicates it will be very soon.
In Starkville, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is opening today.
The first 50 diners today — doors open at 11 a.m. — will receive gift cards worth up to $50. The barbecue restaurant is located in College Park Shopping Center on Russell Street. It is owned by John Thomas.
Dickey’s opened in Dallas, Texas, in 1941, and specializes in Texas-style barbecue. There are approximately 450 Dickey’s in 42 U.S. states. The Starkville location, which employs about 25 people, is the 12th in Mississippi.
Lastly, staying in Starkville, Gypster Veil Boutique will have its grand opening Friday.
The store is at 103 E. Lampkin St. The owner is Jenn Burt, a Mississippi State University graduate.
Burt, who majored in fashion merchandising, started GypsterVeil.com about three years ago after stints living in New York City and Las Vegas. She told The Dispatch this week that what she offered online — “a highly curated selection of quality bohemian women’s fashion that they would want to pass down someday” — is the same thing she offers at her 550-square-foot brick-and-mortar store.
She has two part-time employees.
The store is open from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, and from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday.
The grand opening is from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday.
