Fifteen area professionals will compose the first class of Golden Triangle Leadership.
The class, sponsored by the Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce, Greater Starkville Development Partnership and Clay County Growth Alliance, aims to educate local leaders about their region and increase cohesion in business throughout the Golden Triangle.
“Golden Triangle Leadership is designed to put leaders of each community together, so they can become familiar with the other communities and work together to build a link within the Golden Triangle,” Chamber president Joey Bragg said. “We are very excited to launch this program.”
The class will consist of 10 sessions from October through June that focus on networking and community knowledge.
“This program has so many benefits, not only for the participants but for our community as well,” said Clay County Growth Alliance director Lisa Klutts.
The program costs $500 per person to participate, according to Bragg. He said the payment is essentially a tuition that is paid for by the participant’s company. The money will go toward inviting local speakers and set-up costs.
The first Golden Triangle Leadership session will be held Oct. 13.
