Mississippi University for Women’s annual fall celebration, Oktoberfest, will be held Friday, Oct. 16, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Shattuck Lawn.
There is no admission charge for the family-friendly event that is open to the public.
Hosted by the Student Programming Board, Oktoberfest is a W tradition that allows students to raise money for their campus organizations by selling treats and hosting a variety of activities such as face painting, hole-in-one and ring toss. Tickets will be sold for 25 cents each.
“This event is a great way for student organizations to raise money, as well as get involved on campus and with the community,” said Kendall Robertson, assistant director of student life.
Other events will include a costume contest for children 12 and under at 5:30 p.m. Food, fall games, crafts, a photo booth and live performances will be a part of the festivities.
