Sitel, a customer service provider, will add 500 new jobs to its Starkville call center, the company announced Tuesday.
Sitel’s additions, which include 400 full-time positions and 100 seasonal jobs, was “made possible by significant business expansions with a global leader in the television industry and a national leader in the insurance and benefits enrollment” sector.
“Sitel’s decision to create 500 new jobs in Starkville is evidence that Mississippi has the type of business climate necessary for companies to succeed,” Blake Wilson, the president and CEO of the Mississippi Economic Council, said in a release. “But more importantly, this commitment provides wonderful career opportunities for our citizens.”
“The Starkville team is committed to providing exceptional customer service for our clients,” added Dave Billington, Sitel Starkville’s site director, in the release. “We look forward to welcoming qualified candidates to help deliver outstanding customer experiences for our clients.”
A call to the company’s media division for more information went unreturned Tuesday.
Sitel operates 108 facilities in 21 countries and supports clients across the world. It is privately held and majority owned by the Canadian Onex Corporation.
