Runoff elections for two Oktibbeha County Democratic primaries will be held on Tuesday. Both races are judge positions in the Oktibbeha County Justice Court.
Larnzy Carpenter will face incumbent Bernard Crump for the District 2 seat. Marty Haug will face Cheikh Taylor for the District 3 seat.
District 3 incumbent Jim Mills, who was first appointed to his seat in 1973, is out after he came in third in the Aug. 4 primary 23.81 percent of the vote. Taylor led the field with 31.61 percent of the vote, and Haug got 26.46 percent. Will Hutchinson came in fourth with 17.20 percent of the vote.
Carpenter took the lead in District 2 with 42.45 percent of the vote. Crump pulled in 33.62 percent and Kennedy Neal, who was eliminated from race, got 23.81 percent.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
