Columbus citizens are invited to come welcome their newest neighbors this weekend.
Mississippi University for Women welcomes a new group of students Saturday when students will be moving into their new dorm rooms from 12:00-5:00 p.m.
“We are very excited to open up the halls this weekend and welcome our family home,” said Andrew Moneymaker, director of the Office of Housing and Residence Life.
MUW faculty and staff will greet students as they begin coming onto campus today and direct traffic to streamline the process.
Move-in day also marks the beginning of Blues Week, a series of welcoming events put on by the Office of Student Life each year. Events include: Blue Rally; an official welcome to campus by MUW President Jim Borsig; HOOT (Helping Out Our Town), student-oriented community service projects; the new student serenade at the president’s home; late night breakfast; Social Club/Greek Life ice cream social; and the MUW volleyball tournament.
Classes begin Thursday.
