Two banks have been the targets of robberies or attempted robberies in as many days. One occurred in West Point. The other occurred in Ethelsville, Alabama.
The West Point Police Department confirmed today that authorities are investigating whether the same culprit was involved in both incidents.
The Renasant Bank in West Point was robbed by a young man who escaped with an unknown amount of money about 2:30 p.m. Monday, according to the West Point Police Department.
On Tuesday morning, a young man attempted to rob the West Alabama Bank in Ethelsville, Alabama, according to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office. When bank employees refused to cooperate with him, the man threatened to shoot and reached into his pants as if going for a weapon. The man then became alarmed and fled the bank on foot, authorities said.
No one was injured in either incident.
