The Columbus Police Department is inviting the public to its annual Black & White Ball in downtown Columbus on Saturday evening.
The event kicks off at 7 p.m. at the Trotter Convention Center.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Proceeds will go to needy families and children in the community whom the CPD has adopted. Guests will be able to get to know members of the CPD during a dinner and silent auction. There will also be dancing.
“We protect and serve, and this is a way we choose to serve our community by giving back from our police department,” said Rhonda Sanders, community police officer.
The event will also raise money for National Night Out, a nationwide campaign aimed at bringing communities and police departments together. This year, the CPD will celebrate National Night Out on Aug. 4 by holding a block party for the community.
