The Columbus Police Department has arrested two men accused of shooting into an occupied vehicle near the intersection of 22nd Avenue North and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on May 24.
Tony Martin, 23, of 705 Military Road, and Brandon Orr, 29, of 166 E. Plum St., are both facing charges of aggravated assault, according to CPD Capt. Brent Swan.
Martin was arrested June 25. Officers came into contact with him during a traffic stop on 20th Street North and he fled the area on foot before being taken into custody, Swan said. Authorities say Martin was in possession of a felony amount of cocaine at the time of his arrest.
Martin is also wanted by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for escaping custody of the restitution center, according to CPD.
Orr was arrested near McCrary Road about noon Tuesday, according to Swan.
Municipal Court Judge Shane Tompkins set Martin’s bond at $150,000.
Orr’s bond is expected to be set today.
