Columbus Municipal Judge Marc Amos has found himself with an unexpected work load.
Amos is hearing cases on the Columbus bench this week, a task that had been the responsibility of his former colleague Nicole Clinkscales.
Clinkscales resigned her post as municipal judge last week, after discovering that announcing her candidacy for the District 41 state representative made her ineligible to hear cases.
Columbus chief operating officer David Armstrong told The Dispatch on Monday that city officials have not yet taken up the issue of replacing Clinkscales and no special meetings to do so have been called.
Amos told The Dispatch last week that he was fine with handling the bench on his own. Shane Tompkins also works as a municipal judge part-time with the city and will continue to do so.
