A Columbus woman is out on bond following a felony embezzlement arrest.
Lowndes County sheriff’s deputies arrested Sandra Ward, 46, of 192 Merry Valley Drive, on May 20 for allegedly embezzling $38,000 from her employer, Alarm One, in Lowndes County. Capt. Ryan Rickert with the sheriff’s department told The Dispatch this morning Ward worked as the company’s office manager for about three years.
Rickert said company owners notified authorities after noticing discrepancies in several of its accounts. Officers arrested Ward after a nearly three-month investigation, according to Rickert.
Ward posted a $2,500 bond. Rickert said Ward has repaid “a large portion” of the embezzled money.
