TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is heading south for a handful of events on behalf of his political action committee.
The Republican governor, who is expected to run for president, will travel to Jackson, Mississippi, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Tuesday.
He will speak at a Mississippi Republican Party reception in the morning and attend a meet and greet with Gov. Phil Bryant at a restaurant.
He will then head to Louisiana for a meet and greet with U.S. Sen. David Vitter and a reception for the PAC backing Vitter’s candidacy for governor.
This will be Christie’s first out-of-state trip since two former allies were indicted for their roles in the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal. A third pleaded guilty to corruption charges.
