EMCC welcomes a new recruiter to the Scooba campus. Leia Hill, a Collinsville native, brings a unique blend of skills and experience to her new role as Scooba campus recruiter. Hill worked in the community college setting for over eight years prior to joining EMCC and has also worked in promotion, marketing and public relations for advertising agencies and private businesses. “My biggest strengths are networking and relationship building. I have a lot of contacts everywhere I’ve been, and I’m ready to put it all to use in Scooba,” said Hill. “My primary goal is to reach out to Lauderdale students. EMCC does a great job recruiting in Kemper and Noxubee counties, but I want to strengthen our relationship with Lauderdale students. They’ve heard about us, but they may not know enough about who we are, or they don’t know that we have tuition guarantee, or they don’t know that our campus life is the best in the Mississippi community college system.”
“I love community colleges, and feeling like I’m part of something and helping people. Hill began her tenure at EMCC in February. In addition to recruiting, she is the staff sponsor for campus groups such as the student ambassadors and student government association, and helps with orientation programs like JourneyEAST.
