A Golden Triangle man is behind bars in Clay County after Starkville Police Department charged him with four counts of auto burglary.
Police arrested Darius Emanual Ellis, 20, Friday and charged him with four counts of auto burglary and one count of resisting arrest. A SPD release stated Ellis is a Columbus resident who has lived in Starkville for a short time.
His arrest came after SPD was dispatched to Lynn Lane’s Ferndale Manor Apartments for an in-progress auto burglary.
Ellis’ bond was set at $20,000, or $5,000 per auto burglary charge.
He was processed and transported to Clay County Jail, where he awaits his initial appearance in Starkville Municipal Court on Monday.
SPD urges residents to lock their cars and not to leave valuables in plain sight.
