Statewide Federal Credit Union has announced that Casey Bacon will be joining the credit union as Chief Executive Officer effective February 2, 2015. Current CEO, Paul Armstrong, will be retiring from the organization after more than 16 years at the helm. Bacon was most recently the Chief Information Officer of Government Employees Federal Credit Union in Austin, TX. He has more than 22 years of experience in the credit union industry, and brings a wide variety of experience and knowledge in all facets of credit union operations to his new position. “I’m very excited to be able to lead Statewide Federal Credit Union as it begins its 66th year of operation. Statewide has an outstanding reputation among credit unions in Mississippi and around the nation, and I want to expand and promote the credit union model throughout the state and in our current and potential membership groups.”
Larry Waller, chairman of the board of Statewide, commented that, “We conducted an extensive nationwide search for a suitable candidate to fill our CEO position, and we believe Casey possesses all those attributes necessary to carry this credit union forward into new, positive directions while continuing Statewide’s focus on member Statewide Federal Credit Union was organized in 1949 as the Jackson USDA Federal Credit Union to serve the employees of the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Mississippi. Statewide currently serves some 80 different employee groups in the state, including universities, school districts, government agencies, and medical centers. The organization’s offices in Flowood, Starkville, and Cleveland, MS, offer a complete line of personal financial products to its more than 15,000 members. Statewide has total assets in excess of $100 million.
