Sixteen applicants have been whittled to four as the Columbus Lowndes Recreation Authority board looks to hire a new executive director.
The board chose the four applicants to interview during an executive session of their monthly board meeting Monday, according to board attorney Will Cooper.
The interviews will be held during an Oct. 15 CLRA board meeting. Cooper declined to release the names of the four applicants being interviewed.
Current CLRA director Roger Short is retiring Dec. 31. He announced his retirement in August. Short, who has served as executive director for 12 years, earns $65,330 annually.
Cooper said the new executive director’s salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
