A one car accident claimed the lives of three men this morning.
The identities of the victims are not yet being released pending family notification. Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant said all of the men had Columbus ties, but one victim had an out of state driver’s license. The accident occurred 3/4 mile north of Proffitt’s Porch on Officers Lake Road between midnight and 1:15 a.m Sunday.
Five people were in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The two survivors were transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Alcohol and speed were contributing factors to the accident, according to Merchant.
