Qualifying opened Wednesday for two Lowndes County School District school board positions.
Robert Barksdale currently represents District 3, and Michael Gibson represents District 4. Voters in the New Hope, Rural Hills and National Guard precincts will decide the races.
In order to qualify, applicants must be residents of the district and they must obtain 50 signatures from voters within the district.
Qualifying for the Nov. 6 general election will close Sept. 7.
As of Thursday afternoon, no applications had been submitted for the two positions.
