Three Columbus teenagers have been arrested in connection with a Tuesday night armed robbery. Javontay Carr, 18, of 1604 24th St. N and Rancy Maddox, 18, of 2575 Wright Road, were both arrested Thursday night by the Columbus Police Department. Carr was also charged with trespassing, possession of marijuana and providing false information. A juvenile was also arrested in connection to the robbery.
Carr is still awaiting trial after being arrested for armed robbery in January. He was 17 at the time he was arrested for allegedly robbing a pizza delivery person at gunpoint.
Carr and Maddox are being held in the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center. Bond and an initial court date for the pair are pending.
A home occupied by James Price and an adult female, located at 923 Golding Road in New Hope, was allegedly invaded by two black males Tuesday night around 10 p.m. The couple was held at gunpoint while cash and guns were stolen from their home. Price was reportedly hit in the back of the head with a shotgun and was treated for minor injuries.
The incident is till under investigation by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
