The Columbus Police Department is investigating the robbery of a local pizza establishment. Officers responded to an armed robbery call at about 11:55 p.m. Thursday at Papa John’s Pizza, located at 2321 Hwy. 45 N.
Matthew Hammerbacker told officers he was counting down his register when a black male entered the building, waving a gun and demanding both the money in a deposit bag and in the register. Hammerbacker, who was not injured during the alleged robbery, said approximately $700 total was stolen. The suspect was said to have been wearing a black coat, black hat and blue jeans.
