The Columbus Police Department is investigating a burglary of the Columbus-Lowndes Human Society. Officers Wednesday responded to a call at the Humane Society, 13 Airline Road, in regards to a possible burglary. Jason Nickels said two storage buildings had been vandalized and 20 bags of 40 pounds of Purina dog food had been stolen from the property.
The CPD is also investigating two cases of alleged burglaries of automobiles. At around 5 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a call at 1022 5th St. S. Lashunta Williams said her 1995 Crown Victoria had been burglarized. She reported 100 CDs valued at $400 had been stolen.
Also on Wednesday, officers responded to a call at 217 Constance Lane. Lavonne and Sheldon Leon said an iPod, GPS and a DVD player had been stolen from their vehicle.
