STARKVILLE — Oktibbeha County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man in connection with the assault and robbery of a woman at a restaurant Thursday.
Tony Armstead, 36, is charged with aggravated domestic assault and robbery, accused of choking and kicking his former girlfriend in the head and taking her purse and phone before fleeing Hill’s Cafe on Bevill Road, according to a sheriff’s department news release.
The girlfriend, who was not identified, was treated for head injuries and lacerations at OCH Regional Medical Center and later released.
Armstead’s last known address is 1360 Greenwood St. in Starkville. He has a medium-heavy build and stands approximately 6-foot-2. He has a medium complexion.
Sheriff’s Commander Brett Watson said he’s unsure what caused the altercation. Watson confirmed Armstead does have a criminal history in Oktibbeha County but declined to release details of charges or arrests.
