A Columbus man was physically attacked Sunday night in Artesia and transported to the hospital with wounds to his face.
Lowndes County sheriff’s deputies responded to Naem’s Grocery at 101 Front Street in Artesia at around 8 p.m.
Ricardo Robertson, 24, of 300 Holly Hills Road, Apt. 41, was inside the grocery store when several people entered the store, Lowndes County Chief Deputy Greg Wright said.
The store clerk police interviewed was not sure what happened until he saw blood in the back room.
Witnesses could not give any information to deputies on scene, but Robertson was able to give more information to an investigator and the LCSO does have suspects.
Robertson received several cuts from the attack, Wright said.
