Security cameras at Emerson Family School on Louisville Street recorded two black females suspected of stealing a teacher”s purse June 22.
Now the Starkville Police Department and Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers are asking for help identifying the two women.
SPD investigators say the women entered the school, which is secured by locked doors that require a passcode, around 11 a.m. while the teacher was at lunch with her students in the cafeteria. The women are suspected of entering the teacher”s classroom and stealing her purse.
Later, the teacher”s credit card and check book were used to spend more than $2,000 around Starkville at various locations including Sports Center, Walmart and gas stations.
Anyone arrested in connection with the theft face felony charges of larceny and credit card fraud.
