A Columbus man was arrested early Saturday morning at the Grey Goose nightclub for possession of a small amount of crack cocaine and marijuana.
Reuben Donte Howard, a 31-year-old black male residing at 2325 Fifth Ave. N., was sitting in a parked 2000 Kia with another male and two females when Columbus police officers approached.
According to Chief of Detectives Selvain McQueen, the officers saw what appeared to be marijuana in Howard”s lap. The crack cocaine was found in a bag he also had in his possession.
Howard was arrested on misdemeanor charges for the marijuana and felony charges for the cocaine. He is being held in the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
Other incidents
- An apartment was burglarized at 636 31st Ave. North. Items totaling $1,145 were reported stolen, including two jars of coins, two Makita drills, a pool cue, an IBM desktop computer and a flat-screen computer monitor.
- A 1994 Grand Marquis was broken into at 723 Waterworks Road. The incident was reported at 12:42 a.m. Saturday. Items totaling $400 were reported stolen, including two QComp subwoofers and a 600-watt acoustic amplifier.
- A 2002 Ford Exhibition was broken into at Legends Bar on 13th Avenue North. The incident was reported Saturday at 1:28 a.m. Items totaling $315 were reported stolen, including a silver snap Dolce & Gabbana purse, a portable phone charger, two phone covers and personal identification.
- An unlocked 2001 Chevrolet Blazer was broken into at 1019 Second Ave. N. The incident was reported Sunday morning at 10:12 a.m. Items totaling $330 were reported stolen, including a Pioneer CD player and a bag of change.
