A 41-year-old Caledonia mother who used her two sons to make child pornography has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison.
Angela Shoemake, of 276 Wells Drive, was sentenced this past week by U.S. District Judge Michael P. Mills in Oxford following an October plea agreement, WCBI reported.
She was convicted of using a minor to produce pornography and distributing pornography – two of seven federal charges she faced. If she had been found guilty of both charges, she could have received up to 50 years in prison.
Shoemake was arrested Aug. 16, 2010, after her then-boyfriend found photographs of her 8-year-old and 6-year-old boys on her computer, according to the Lowndes County Sheriff”s Office. She was planning to send the photos to a Seattle man she met online who has yet to be taken into custody.
Neither boy was thought to have been sexually molested, investigators said.
While the federal case is over, Shoemake still faces two counts of child exploitation in Lowndes County Circuit Court this year.
