A 32-year-old man was charged Thursday with hitting a stranger in the head with a beer bottle while drinking with friends in East Columbus.
Jeremy Murray, of 82 Eulie Drive E., came up behind the victim Thursday and hit him on the left side of the head above his eye.
Police officers took Murray into custody at the scene. The victim was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle for treatment.
Officers remain unsure what, if anything, provoked the alleged attack on someone Murray hadn”t met before, although the men had reportedly been drinking alcohol.
