STARKVILLE — Broadcast Media Group of Starkville recently won five Addy awards, including Best of Show for Broadcast, at the American Advertising Federation”s annual awards celebration in Greenville.
The AAF”s Mississippi Delta chapter honored Broadcast Media President Robbie Coblentz as 2010 “Copywriter of the Year.”
“Glass Half Full,” a 30-second TV commercial produced for Cancer Care at Premier Health Complex in Starkville, brought home the gold medal in the Local TV category. The complete, two-part Cancer Care commercial won the top prize in the Campaign category, and was named “Best of Show” in the broadcast division.
Broadcast Media also won a local TV gold Addy with its “Pick Peppers” commercial for West Point-based Quest Group and their client, Eat With Us Group.
“It”s an honor to be recognized for your work,” Broadcast Media Producer Laura Crum said.
Aside from the top prizes, Broadcast Media Group also brought home two bronze Addy awards.
The 2010 Super Bulldog Weekend commercial produced for Mississippi State University was awarded a bronze Addy in the Local TV category. Additionally, a promotional spot produced for the Clinton public school system garnered a bronze Addy.
Coblentz said he was thrilled to bring home the awards.
“Winning an Addy is always an honor,” Coblentz said. “Being honored with ”Best of Show” and ”Copywriter of the Year” is hard to describe.”
Coblentz and Jean-Marie Carroll, marketing director of Premier Health Group, shared the award as the club”s “Copywriters of the Year” for their work on the Cancer Care spots.
“We are truly honored to be given these awards by our peers in the marketing and advertising industry,” Carroll said. “It really means a lot to receive such high commendation for our work.”
The entries continue onto regional competition.
