The oft-arrested Lavento Shamon Fox suffered minor injuries in a fistfight with a fellow inmate Tuesday evening in the Lowndes County jail.
The tussle between Fox, 27, of 1624 Fourth Ave. S., and Andre Marquez Turner, 23, of 1124 Sixth Ave. N., began in one of the common rooms at about 8:40 p.m., according to Lowndes County Sheriff”s Office Chief Deputy Greg Wright.
Fox was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle for knots on the back of his head and several minor cuts. He was returned to jail later that day.
Turner, who is in jail for being a felon in possession of a weapon, was unhurt.
Jail investigators will decide whether anyone will be charged, said Jail Administrator Billy Pickens.
The brawl is yet another smudge on Fox”s already troubled record.
He was most recently arrested in Memphis, where he was hiding after allegedly breaking into a Columbus house with another suspect and kidnapping two victims Aug. 16.
In June, he had escaped from Columbus police with the help of his brother, Sugi Fox.
Lavento Fox is currently waiting for his turn in Lowndes County Circuit Court, where he will face the following charges: two counts of burglary of a dwelling, possession of a weapon by a felon, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping and another count of burglary.
