- All things considered, I think what's been most important is the run defense. MSU's been playing with six defensive backs on the field for almost the entire game and still Louisiana Tech is averaging fewer than 4 yards per carry. That's impressive. Of course some credit belongs to those defensive backs who have been crashing the box at times, but I can't wait to watch it back to see just how much the defensive line has been snuffing that out.
- Nick Fitzgerald is averaging something like 5 yards per attempt. This is getting weird. Obviously the running in his game is doing more than enough to salvage it (on top of the touchdowns created by the short field), but still. It's strange.
